Edie Stewart

Since beginning her career as a classroom teacher, Edie has held leadership roles across education, workforce development, and the nonprofit sector.

Prior to joining Forward as CEO, she was senior vice president and chief mission officer at Goodwill Industries of Arkansas, overseeing a portfolio focused on adult education, workforce training, career services, and reentry programs. Before that, she was director of educator preparation at the Arkansas Department of Education. She is the former assistant vice chancellor for enrollment at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and an instructor and university supervisor coordinator at the University of Cincinnati. She has taught in multiple settings, including higher education and K-12 public schools.

Edie holds a bachelor’s in elementary education from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and a master’s in special education from the University of St. Joseph.
