Challenge:
Arkansas students are suffering from substantial learning loss due to the pandemic - and the impact is more significant for students of color. If not addressed, this will have a lasting impact on our kids and our State.
Solution:
In 2021, Forward worked with Sen. Joyce Elliott to develop Act 912 to create the Arkansas Tutoring Corp, a statewide tutoring initiative. Tutoring is a proven, highly effective intervention to accelerate learning and directly benefits struggling students. This program responds to the immediate emergency created by the pandemic while also laying the groundwork for a long-term, sustainable strategy to improve education outcomes for all Arkansas students.
